Token gating is a concept used in the digital world, particularly in blockchain and Web3 spaces. It refers to restricting access to certain content, services, or experiences based on ownership of a specific token or NFT (Non-Fungible Token). In other words, only users who hold a particular token or NFT can access exclusive features, content, or privileges.
For example, in the context of a community, only users who own a specific NFT might be able to participate in a private forum or attend a special event. Token gating creates a way to ensure that only those with verified ownership or investment in a project can take part in certain activities.
Navigate to the Squad settings, then go to the Squad type section to find the option for token gating.
There are three access options for setting up squad token gating in the SendingMe app. Here’s a list of them and how to set them up:
Asset Access
User Action: Connect wallet to the app.
System Action: Check if the user has required tokens or NFTs.
Outcome: If the user has the right asset, they get access to exclusive content. If not, they are prompted to get the asset.
Trending Access
User Action: Try to access trending content.
System Action: Check if the user holds tokens related to trending content.
Outcome: If the user holds the right tokens, they access exclusive trending content. If not, they see general content.
Customized Access
User Action: Try to access personalized content.
System Action: Check if the user holds tokens for VIP or customized access.
Outcome: If the user holds the right tokens, they access personalized content. If not, they get general content or a prompt to acquire the necessary tokens.
Summary:
Asset Access: Unlocks content based on token/NFT holdings.
Trending Access: Grants access to trending content tied to certain tokens.
Customized Access: Unlocks personalized content based on user’s token holdings or preferences.
