Let's look into how Messaging works:
You have two options for chatting with someone:
Click "New Chat."
Click "Add Friends," or use other options to connect with someone.
Click the "Search" icon and input the name of the person you would like to message.
Once you see the name appear, click then a new page will pop up. Click "Send Request" to add the user. An invitation to accept or reject will be received by the person you are trying to message.
Once accepted, you can start your conversation!
Continue a Previous Conversation:
Look for the conversation either from "Friends" or "Community."
Select a conversation to start chatting.
Type your message and tap the send icon.

Start a New Chat:
Click "Create a New Chat."
Click the "Search" icon and input the name of the person you would like to message.
Once the name appears, hover your mouse over the person's name and "Add Contact" will be shown. Click "Add." An invitation to accept or reject will be received by the person you are trying to message.
You can start your conversation once you are accepted.
Continue a Previous Conversation:
Look for the conversation either from "Friends" or "Community."
Select a conversation to start chatting.
Type your message and tap the send icon.
